TSC crush GNIC by 10 wickets

Transport Sports Club (TSC) crushed the Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) by 10 wickets while the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) defeated Bel Air Rubis by 59 runs in the latest round of the Georgetown Cricket Association NY/Tri State U19 tournament.

Playing at the Malteenoes Sports Club ground, GNIC took first strike but struggled to quality bowling and crumbled for 69 all out in the rain affected 25-overs-a-side affair.

L. Chesney was the only batsman to reach double figures with 13 as Anthony Hetsberger ran through the GNIC batting picking up 3-10 in the process. Anthony Antonio was also amongst the wickets with 3-11 while Mark Baptise bagged 2-9.

In reply, Adrian Hinds hammered an unbeaten 40 as Hetsberger who also opened the batting remained unbeaten on 14, the chase ending after 14 overs.

Meanwhile, DCC, playing at home, trounced Bel Air Rubis in a match that was also reduced to 25 overs. Sachin Singh led from the front with a solid 45 that included five fours and three sixes while Ashmead Nedd smacked 39 with four fours and two sixes as DCC racked up 148 in 24 overs. Sadiq Khan and Kishore Seepersaud were the prime bowlers with four wickets each for 27 and 13 runs respectively.

In reply, Bel Air Rubis stumbled to 89 all out with only Andrew Samaroo with the top score of 23 and Khan with 20 showing any resistance. Sagar Hathiramani picked up 3-10 while Daniel Mootoo also picked up three and Diquan Bamfield two wickets.

The other scheduled match between GCC vs MYO was washed out.
