Guyanese squash players out of plate contention

Guyana endured another disappointing day on the squash court at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

Guyana’s 23-year-old Jason Ray – Khalil received his second defeat of the tournament losing to Jules Snagg of St Vincent and the Grenadines in competitive three-set match 7 – 11, 6-11, 9-11.

He had earlier in the tournament lost to Campbell Grayson of New Zealand in the round of 64 match.

Meanwhile, first round winner Sunil Seth gave Pakistan’s Tayyad Aslam a walkover to the plate quarterfinals.

Taylor Fernandes also suffered a defeat after she lost her plate quarter final match to Sri Lanka’s Mihiliya Methsarani 3-11, 4-11, 4-11.

Mary Fung – A- Fat endured a similar fate, falling to Barbadian Meagan Best 3-11, 9-11, 8- 11

The quartet will now suit up for the doubles matches scheduled for the new week.
