Colts, Ravens to clash in `Road to Mecca’ final

Two-time defending champion Colts will battle 2014 winners Ravens in the final of the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation ‘Road to Mecca’ Club Championships on Saturday following semi-final wins Sunday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.

Colts marched to their third consecutive final, brushing aside last year’s losing finalist Victory Valley Royals 84-70.

Shane Webster and Shelroy Thomas were the top scorers for Colts with 23 and 18 points respectively.

Meanwhile, Ravens downed emerging giant Kobras 73-58. Anthony Moe recorded 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Ravens while Darcel Harris added 16 points.

For Kobras, Travis Burnett tallied 24 points. The losing semi-finalists will face off in the third place matchup.

Winner of the event will pocket $600,000 and a trophy while the runners-up will receive $400,000 and a trophy.

The third place finisher receives $300,000 and a trophy.

The Most Valuable Player (MVP), is set to receive $200,000 while $100,000 each will be awarded to the individuals that secure the Most Points and Most Rebounds and also to the Most Improved Player.
