The Pepsi Hornets made light work of the Yamaha Caribs yesterday earning a 42-8 victory when the Bounty Farm 15s League continued at the National Park.

Thanks to a Claudius Butts try, the Caribs seized the early advantage but they quickly unraveled.

A try apiece by Ryan Gonsalves, Lonsdale Brown and a conversion and penalty by Leon Greaves quickly put the Hornets up 10.

Butts would stem the tide with a penalty to drag the Caribs within seven but a wave of tries and saran wrap defense blanked the Caribs the rest of the way and enabled the Hornets to secure the stinging victory.

A brace by Peabo Hamilton along with a conversion by Gonsalves stretched the lead further as the Hornets would go into halftime with the score on 27-8.

Following halftime, Jason Tyrell, Elwin Chase and Blaise Bailey added gloss to the score line by putting their names on the scoresheet with a try each. The 15 unanswered points underscored the Hornets’ dominance following Butts’ early game heroics.
