T&T drives off with Caribbean championship

The victorious Trinidadian team

Team Trinidad and Tobago once again drove off with the winner’s spoils of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championships (CMRC) which concluded on Sunday at the South Dakota Circuit.

During the closing and award ceremony of the event which was held last night at the Ramada Princess, it was announced that the Soca Daredevils had successfully completed a three-peat.

Despite a nondisclosure of the scoresheet from the GMR&SC, a Trinidadian official disclosed last night that the unofficial scores read Trinidad (1349 points), Barbados (723), Guyana (579), Jamaica (548), Antigua (205), CAMS (116) and Cayman Islands (32).

The drivers and riders from the Twin Island Republic were awarded the winners champion despite a less than stellar display during finale of the four-leg championships at the South Dakota Circuit.

While Trinidad dominated the car championships, the two-wheeled spoils of the bike Championships was won by Team Jamaica.
