Easy wins for Paradise Invaders, Rosignol United

Paradise Invaders and Rosignol United clinched easy wins, when the 2nd Annual GT-Beer 8-Aside Football Championship, continued on Sunday at the All-Saints ground New Amsterdam [NA].

Paradise Invaders pillaged Hopetown-B by a 4-0 scoreline in a thoroughly lopsided contest. Olvis Mitchell opened the scoring compliments of a 19th minute strike.

The lanky Mitchell, uncorked a well-placed strike into the back of the net, after collecting the ball inside the penalty area. Gavell Fraser then increased their lead via a 23rd minute conversion.

The speedy Fraser raced away from the rear guard to latch onto a through pass, before finishing past the advancing custodian from inside the 18-yard box.

Not content with their dominant position, Paradise found the back of the net two more times in the form of Colius Saul.

Saul opened his account in the 38th minute, rifling his effort into the back of the net, following a passing combination between several team-mates.

His second conversion occurred in the 46th minute and mirrored his first goal, with Saul finishing off a wonderful build-up passing play with a superb strike past the hapless custodian.

On the other hand, Rosignol United secured the pivotal three points without breaking a sweat, defeating Mahaica Determinators via walkover.

The event resumes on Friday at the same venue with another doubleheader. At 19:00hrs, No.#5 will lock horns with Cougars XX in the opening clash.

In the feature affair, defending champion Georgetown Police will take aim at Hopetown-A from 20:30hrs.
