Women cops defeat army counterparts in fitness challenge

Last Friday, during the Guyana Defence Force ‘s fourth quarterly fitness assessment at Base Camp Stephenson, a female contingent from the Guyana Police Force, emerged first among six other female teams, having also won the previous quarterly competition.

A release from the Guyana Police Force on Monday said that the teams participated in nine disciplines over a two-day period (Thursday 29th & Friday 30th) and the Female ‘A’ Team under the command of Sergeant 23949 Alita Moore accumulated 609 points and dominated in the following areas:

Obstacles crossing – 4:58 seconds with 98 points.

Rope climbing – 11:15 seconds with 100 points.

Navigation & casevac with 100 points.

Falling plates- with 90 points.

Target shoot-with 47 points.

During a familiarization visit to Police Commissioner Leslie James and his Performance Group Team by visiting Trinidadian Counterparts, the Police Force used the opportunity to recognize and award Sergeant Moore and her teammates, for making the Force proud.

The presentation of the trophies was done by the Senior Officers of the T&T Police Service.
