A new champion will be crowned in the Smalta Girls Pee Wee Football Championship after North Georgetown eliminated holder South Ruimveldt 1-0 in their semi-final clash yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Nikita Manning separated the two teams with a fourth minute strike. North Georgetown will now face-off with West Ruimveldt in the finale, after the latter defeated St Pius in the other semi-final matchup.
West Ruimveldt prevailed 3-2 on penalty kicks after regulation and extra time ended scoreless. The two losers will match skills in the third place playoff.
Meanwhile, in the 5-10 section, St Stephen’s defeated Genesis 1-0. Sheriann Foster scored in the 34th minute. Similarly, Enterprise edged Tucville 4-3 on penalty kicks, following a 0-0 score at the end of normal and extra time.
On the other hand, Smith Memorial crushed St Margaret’s 2-0 compliments of a Fiona Gibson double in the 16th and 36th minute.
