Married Men stun Bachelors in Boxing Day match

Married men showed Bachelors how the game is played to take the annual Lusignan Cricket Club Boxing Day derby.

A cricket team comprising married men only showed a team of bachelors who was boss after defeating them by three wickets in the Lusignan Community Centre Cricket Club’s Annual Boxing Day showdown.

The tradition that has been going since 2012 saw the Bachelors batting first, posting 191 all out in their 25 overs with the Married Men racing to 197-7 in 23.2 overs after a mix up in the scorebooks resulted in the teams agreeing on 20 runs required from the last three overs.

Robin Williams and Chandrika Harripal began the Bachelor’s innings cautious, adding 23 until Harripal was dismissed for 20.
