LUCAS STOCK INDEX
The Lucas Stock Index (LSI) rose 1.67 percent during the first period of trading in May 2018. The stocks of six companies were traded with 252,766 shares changing hands. There were three Climbers and two Tumblers. The stocks of Banks DIH (DIH) rose 2.73 percent on the sale of 57,968 shares. The stocks of Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) rose 7.78 percent on the sale of 59,012 shares while the stocks of Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI) rose 14 percent on the sale of 2,000 shares. The stocks of Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) fell 5 percent on the sale of 12,723 shares and the stocks of Republic Bank Limited fell 4.48 percent on the sale of 60,000 shares. In the meanwhile, the stocks of Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) remained unchanged on the sale of 61,063 shares. The LSI closed at 390.86.
