The Lucas Stock Index (LSI) rose 3.53% during the first period of trading in June 2019.  The stocks of six companies were traded, with 157,626 shares changing hands.  There were three Climbers and no Tumblers. The stocks of the Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) rose 16.05% on the sale of 1,000 shares. The stocks of Caribbean Containers Incorporated (CCI) rose 4.17% on the sale of 90,270 shares. The stocks of Banks DIH (DIH) also rose 1.20% on the sale of 9,064 shares. In the meanwhile, the stocks of Republic Bank Limited (RBL), the Guyana Bank for Trade & Industry (BTI), and the Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) remained unchanged on the sale of 56,700 shares, 377 shares and 215 shares, respectively. The LSI closed at 556.17.
