‘Kokers’ address lands alleged motorcycle parts thief in Camp St

A 35-year-old man, who allegedly stole $300,000 worth of articles from a mechanic shop in Charlestown, was on Friday remanded to prison after he failed to give the court a fixed address where he resides.

Munilall called ‘Sonny’, denied a charge which alleged that between the 13th and 14th of August at Sussex Street, Charlestown, he broke and entered the mechanic shop of Sean Clarke and stole motorcycle parts and tools valued $300,000.

The charge was read by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court Two.

Prosecutor Tracey Gittens objected to bail being granted to the defendant based on the fact that Munilall has no fixed place of abode. When the magistrate asked where he lived, Munilall responded, “In Parika, by the kokers.”

After hearing that response, the magistrate remanded Munilall to prison and told him to make his next court appearance regarding the matter on August 30th.
