Trinidad man charged with murdering shopkeeper neighbour

(Trinidad Express) A La Horquetta man, charged with the murder of his neighbour, shopkeeper Christopher Khanhai.

David Daniel Lewis, aka ‘David James’, a 21-year-old of Humming Bird Avenue, was arrested on September 3 and charged with murder, possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.

Khanhai, 38, also of Hummingbird Avenue, was found shot dead at his mini-mart at the corner of Chameleon Drive and Humming Bird Avenue, on April 10.

Investigations launched into the murder were supervised by ASP (Ag.) Dhilpaul, of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 2.

Charges were laid by PC Ali, also of HBI Region 2, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard, SC.
