MACORP Guyana on Friday launched the Yellowmark line of parts that is expected to give customers both affordable but reliable replacements for their machines.

The Yellowmark products are a line of repair and replacement parts that are developed by Caterpillar (CAT), which the company says provides customers with a balance of reliability, convenience and affordability. The brand offers parts for excavators, front end loaders and other small and medium construction equipment as a lower cost option to Genuine Caterpillar parts. The parts are made for one time use only as they are made with lower grade materials so as to make them affordable for the customers.

At the launch, which was held at the Pegasus Hotel, customers and members of the media were given information on the Yellowmark line up by Chief Executive Officer of MACORP Guillermo Escarraga, who told the gathering that the line was brought to Guyana as a result of the customers’ requests for affordable parts.

Escarraga stated that the Yellowmark is a global Caterpillar initiative and Guyana was not left behind. The CEO explained that they are aware that some owners of Caterpillar machinery are forced to purchase aftermarket parts for their machinery. “Most times you get disappointed because you pay low price for a part but then you get low performance, you get something that breaks, you get something that doesn’t work,” he not.

Escarraga added that Caterpillar thus came up with Yellowmark to fill that gap and provide durable and reliable parts for the machinery. “Yellowmark is a brand that will be very likely to be at a similar price point of your aftermarket parts but you are going to get the assurance that with these parts you will get the job done,” he said while adding that no aftermarket products will be able to match the brand which was produced by Caterpillar.

Giving further details to customers and potential customers at the gathering was Senior Marketing Consultant for Caterpillar Americas South & Caribbean Alexis Castillo. In his presentation, he stated that the company came up with the brand to help customers who were struggling with prices for Caterpillar parts. “We started to think in your shoes. We identified that you guys needed some flexibility and competitive options,” he said. He noted that at times some customers may not need the Genuine CAT part for their machines as it would be costly and they would need a part that can just be easily replaced in order to complete a specific project in a set time.
