Fruta Conquerors whip GFC 5-1

Fruta Conquerors U20 whipped the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) 5-1 on Saturday in the fourth annual Limacol Football competition at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

The contest was effectively over in the opening 12 minutes after the Tucville outfit romped to a 3-0 lead.

Nicholas MacArthur bagged a quick fire double on his way to an eventual hat trick, netting in the first and eighth minute.

He was followed by Reshawn Ritch, who netted in the 11th minute.

The Bourda-based unit pulled one back in the 14th minute through Kelvin Moore.

However this proved to be their only conversion of the match as Ravon Bailey restored his team’s advantage in the 49th minute.

The outcome was then sealed 10 minutes later when MacArthur completed his well deserved hat-trick.

Meanwhile, Camptown and Black Pearl battled to a 1-1 result. Peter Smith handed Black Pearl the first half lead via a 36th minute conversion.

However, Camptown levelled proceedings in the 54th when Jamal Codrington scored to earn his team a share of the points.

The tournament resumes tomorrow at the same venue with another round of matches.

Beacons will oppose GT Panthers from 19:00hrs while Buxton Stars will take aim at Northern Rangers at 21:00hrs.
