Boxing action Terrence Alli National Open Championships

Mark Crawford (right) of the Forgotten Youth Foundation (FYF) Gym lands a flush right hand to the chin of opponent, Sherlon Stephen in their junior welterweight (youth) bout last night. Crawford went on to win the fight via a second round stoppage by the referee.

The Terrence Alli National Open Championships got underway last night at the National Gymnasium with seven bouts, three of which were exhibition. 

In the four fights with the medal contenders, Alex Butcher, Mark Crawford, Clinton Clarke and Clairmont Gibson were in the winner’s row. 

 Butcher (versus Nicholas Deheart) and Crawford (versus Sherlon Stephen) won their respective bouts via a second round stoppage. 

Clarke and Gibson had close decision wins against Andre Bess and Kareem Boyce respectively. 

The three-night event concludes tomorrow night.
