Levar Moore, a 20-year-old electrician who is accused of robbing a policeman of his motorcycle at gunpoint, was yesterday remanded to prison.

Moore, of Eccles, denied the charge, which was read by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court One.

The charge states that on November 9th, 2019, at Princes Street, Georgetown, while being in  the company of others and armed with a gun, Moore stole a motorcycle, valued $270,000, from Sherwin Thornhill.

According to the police prosecutor, on the day in question, Thornhill, who is a policeman, was sitting on his bike talking with one of his colleagues at the city constabulary when Moore and others approached him and pointed a gun to his head. Moore then allegedly relieved him of the motorcycle, after which he and his accomplices escaped.

Moore was later arrested at a roadblock and the motorcycle, which he was riding, was impounded.

Moore was subsequently remanded to prison and was told to make his next court appearance today.
