US  law enforcement official meets with Guyanese partners

Rachel Cook, Program Advisor from the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs at the U.S. State Department visited Guyana December 2 –3 and held meetings with partners at the Guyana Court of Appeal, the Guyana Police Force, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Justice Education Society.  

A release today from the US Embassy here said that since 2011, the United States has invested over 3 million USD to strengthen Guyana’s security and has trained over 500 Guyanese in the fields of financial intelligence, law enforcement, port security, and drug prevention. 

The release said that Cook’s visit reinforced U.S. commitment to furthering security cooperation with Guyana.
