Bandits cart off safe from NIS office at Melanie

The Police say they are making stringent efforts to apprehend three males who broke into the NIS Office at Melanie Damishana, ECD, and carted off a metal safe containing a sum of cash at about 1.30 am today.

The suspects allegedly first pounced on the two female security guards on duty, relieved them of a service revolver with six rounds and a cellular phone. The police say that they then reportedly took the guards to the back of the building, bound their hands and feet and returned only the weapon to them.

Investigations are in progress.
