Bail for vendor on ganja trafficking charge

A father of six accused of trafficking 15 grammes of marijuana, was yesterday granted bail by a city court.

It is alleged that on January 22, 2018, at the Stabroek Market, 34-year-old Oswald Wade had in his possession 15 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

The drink vendor pleaded not guilty to the charge, which was read to him by Magistrate Faith McGusty, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

Police Prosecutor Annalisa Brummel, did not object to bail being granted to Wade. The accused was granted bail in the sum of $30,000 and was told to return to court on February 13 for his next hearing. He was also told to report to the Brickdam Police Station every Monday.
