Kuru Kuru man remanded on ganja farming charge

Dried marijuana that was found in a bag at one of the camps. It was destroyed.

A  Kuru Kuru, Soesdyke-Linden highway resident was yesterday remanded to prison after being charged with cultivating marijuana.

Gabron Williams, 22, was arraigned at the Linden Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Wanda Fortune. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded until February 8th.

Williams was arrested by police in Linden during a drug eradication exercise, which saw 13 acres of marijuana fields under cultivation being destroyed. He was reportedly found tending to the plants at one of the farms raided by the police.
