Power Producers Distributors Incorporated (PPDI), Chief Executive Officer, Aaron Fraser says that the company’s achievement of the ISO 9001 certification “marks a significant milestone.”

Fraser was speaking earlier this month at a cocktail reception hosted at the Guyana Marriott Hotel to celebrate the company’s achievement.

“It is important to note that our ISO certification is for the entire company…we thought it was important and critical to our success as a new company to bare ourselves to the scrutiny of an external examiner,” the Chief Executive Officer said, according to the Department of Public Information (DPI).

PPDI achieved the ISO 9001 certification having fulfilled standard requirements and principles as assessed by the Professional Evaluation and Certification Board (PECB), North America, DPI said.

Fraser encouraged other state corporations to follow suit.

PPDI is a government owned Operations and Maintenance Company which replaced Wartsila Operations Guyana Incorporated in the management of the four Guyana Power and Light owned power plants in Demerara.
