Bail was denied to a vagrant who was charged with a larceny at a city court on Monday.

The charge, read by Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus, alleges that Gopaul Ramjattan stole articles amounting to $38,280 from Diane Etwaroo on February 9th, at Church Street, Georgetown.

Prosecutor Quinn Harris objected to bail based on the fact that Ramjattan was previously sentenced to six months in jail for a similar offence and further stated that the articles stolen were recovered on Ramjattan, who was caught by security guards from a nearby supermarket.

Ramjattan, 20, pleaded not guilty to the charge but was then remanded to prison as he had no fixed address. The matter was adjourned until March 4th, 2019.
