Dharmic Sabha’s Holi Utsav set for Softball Ground

The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha has announced that Holi Utsav will be held at the Softball Ground this Phagwah, and will feature some of the finest Guyanese artistes, with Trinidad and Tobago singer Nishard Mayroo headlining the event.

The organisation, in a release, related that the winners of Kala Utsav, Naya Kumari, Suraj Singh and Raveena Ramroop, along with Ganindra, Richie Hansraj, Mona Gowkaran and Sookrane Boodhoo will be performing.

It added that the much acclaimed Dharmic Nritya Sangh of the popular theatrical production, Naya Zamana, will also be featured.

The event, for which gates open at 4 pm on Thursday, March 21, will be held at the Softball Ground, located opposite the National Park and east of the Everest Ground, on Carifesta Avenue. Admission for the event is free and patrons will enjoy colour throws and powder giveaways.

No alcohol is allowed.

The release also noted that a special satsangh will be held at the Shri Krishna Mandir at 6:30pm on Wednesday, March 20. It will be followed by Holika Dahan, the burning of Holika, at the Camptown Ground, Campbellville. That event will begin at 7:45pm.
