National awards are to be conferred this year on May 24.
According to an advertisement in today’s Stabroek News, President David Granger will invest the awardees with their insignia at a ceremony beginning at 4 pm at the National Cultural Centre.
Last year, national awards were conferred on October 6th. With the no confidence vote raising the prospect of early elections it appears that the investiture ceremony has been moved up.
