The Ministry of Citizenship is looking to partner with the Guyana Police Force to train ranks stationed in border locations on the registration of births, Minister Winston Felix has announced, noting that Eteringbang in Region Seven will be used as a pilot for the project’s implementation.
The minister disclosed this yesterday, during the meeting of the National Multi-Sectoral Coordinating Committee, a release from the Ministry of the Presidency said.
“There should be no child in Guyana, irrespective of their geographical location, who is not registered,” Felix said, also stating that since assuming office, government has been working toward achieving its goal of 100 percent registration of births.
