Kishon Simon, a local boxer, was yesterday granted bail, after police alleged that he was in possession of four grammes of ecstasy pills, which were found near his toilet.

Simon, 29, pleaded not guilty to the charge, which was read by Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

It was alleged that on April 15, at Oronoque Street, Georgetown, Simon had eight ecstasy pills in his possession, which amounted to four grammes.

In Simon’s defence, Attorney Dexter Todd, told the court that the suspected narcotic was found in a house, where multiple people reside and that Simon was charged because he was the only one at home at that time.

Prosecutor Seon Blackman objected to bail, citing the nature of the offence. The facts, according to Blackman, stated that on the said date and location, ranks acting on information, went to Simon’s home and conducted a search. The narcotics were found near the toilet and after investigating the toilet bowl, it was suspected that he had flushed down a majority of the pills.

Simon was granted bail in the sum of $50,000 and the matter was adjourned until May 8, 2019.
