President attends Easter Service at St Matthew’s Parish Church

President David Granger greets an elderly member of the St Matthew’s Parish Church congregation.

Fresh off returning from treatment in Cuba, President David Granger yesterday attended Easter Sunday service at the St Matthew’s Parish Church, Providence, East Bank Demerara, where he spread a message of love, faith and hope.

A release from the Department of Public Information noted that the president attended the service with his daughter,  Han Granger-Gaskin.

“Easter is the reason for the church. Without the passion of Christ, without the resurrection, there would be no reason for the church, no cause, no justification. It is the resurrection of Christ we celebrate,” he reminded the congregation.
