A 35-year-old businesswoman of Vigilance South, East Coast Demerara, was yesterday arrested and taken into police custody after she was caught with a quantity of marijuana.
Acting on intelligence gathered, police said ranks swooped down on the house to conduct a search. A female who was present at the time, quickly disposed of a parcel through one of the shop’s windows, police said.
Ranks went in search of the package thrown out the window and retrieved a fanny pack which contained a quantity of cannabis.
It was found to contain a quantity of cannabis which weighed 120 grammes.
