La Penitence, Alexander Village to benefit from ICT hub

The residents of Constituency 11 in Georgetown – which includes La Penitence and Alexander Village – will soon be the beneficiaries of an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) hub as part of an effort to address issues affecting the respective communities in the constituency.

According to a Department of Public Information (DPI) release, areas in this constituency include, North East La Penitence, East La Penitence, Alexander Village, Yarrow Dam, Riverview, a section of Callender Street and Independence Boulevard.

Councillor for the constituency, Yvonne Ferguson, disclosed that a youth club, ‘Influential Millennium’ has been formed to address issues confronting youths in the constituency. It facilitates vocational training and distribution of bursary grants to children who sat the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) and the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination.
