A homeless man is now nursing injuries about his body after he was beaten and chopped by a group of men who allegedly attacked him on Friday evening along the University of Guyana (UG) access road.
While details surrounding the incident remain unclear, Sunday Stabroek was told that the man, is known by persons in the area as “Rasta man,” was attacked while seeking shelter at a bus shed situated at the northern end of the road.
He has been a fixture in the area for a number of years.
This newspaper was told that passersby noticed the man’s injuries and offered to take him to seek medical attention but he refused. Efforts made by this newspaper to contact the police for a comment on the matter proved futile.
