Piarco rated top Caribbean airport

(Trinidad Guardian) The Airports Authority (AATT) has announced that the Piarco International Airport has topped the region as the Best Airport in the Caribbean, as declared by the Skytrax 2019 World Airport Awards.

A statement by the AATT said that this is a significant achievement as there is a marked improvement from the 2018 ranking.

The Piarco International Airport has this year bypassed the Norman Manley International Airport in Jamaica, and the Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados, to cop first place.

Further to this, in relation to the Global Region – Central America and the Caribbean, the Piarco International Airport has been ranked by Skytrax as the Third Best Airport, edged out only by Panama’s Tocumen International Airport and Costa Rica’s San Jose International Airport.

The AATT said that it is “greatly encouraged” by this award and commits to the implementation of a number of strategic initiatives currently underway to ensure the delivery of even higher standards of customer service and operational efficiency at both the Piarco and ANR Robinson International airports.
