(Jamaica Gleaner) Assis-tant Commissioner of Police Jermaine Delatti-budiere, the officer in charge of crime for Trelawny, says a suspect is in custody in relation to the beheading of a woman in Clarke’s Town.

The nude body of 59-year-old Valerie ‘Ms P’ Thompson, of Hampshire Lane, also in Clarke’s Town, was found in bushes about 8:30 on Thursday night.

The body had multiple chop wounds.

The police believe that she was sexually assaulted and then killed.

They also believed that she put up a fight based on the number of chop wounds to the body.

Delattibudiere condemned the killing and said that no effort would be spared in bringing the attacker to justice.

“This is a most unfortunate incident and we are now working with some strong leads,” said Delattibudiere.

The beheading of Thompson is the second such incident in western Jamaica this week.

On Wednesday, the police discovered the partially decomposed body of a man, whose head was also severed, in bushes in Coral Gardens, St James.
