Trinidad: Couple killed after car hits bridge, plunges into river

Couple Samantha Beepath and Keron Antoine who died on Saturday during a fatal crash in the vicinity of the Guyamare River on the Uriah Butler Highway.

(Trinidad Express) A couple was killed early on Saturday after their vehicle hit the concrete bridge spanning the Guyamare River on the Uriah Butler Highway.

The car plunged into the river. It is uncertain if the couple drowned or died from crash injuries.

It happened at around 4a.m.

The dead have been identified as driver Keron Antoine, of 25 Circular, 6th Avenue, Malick, Barataria, and passenger Samantha Beepath.

Beepath was 29 years old.

Antoine was 34-years-old.

Police were told that the car was heading south along the highway when it hit the bridge and went into the river.

Fire fighters and police officers responded.

The vehicle had to be taken out using tow trucks, before the bodies could be removed.
