Tobago man stabbed to death during Highway quarrel with woman

(Trinidad Guardian) To­ba­go po­lice are prob­ing the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the killing of An­der­son Ba­boo­nanan.

Po­lice said Ba­boo­nanan, 32, of South Oropouche, was stabbed to death dur­ing an al­ter­ca­tion with a close fe­male friend ear­ly Fri­day morn­ing.

A 25-year-old woman is said to be in po­lice cus­tody in con­nec­tion with the al­leged crime.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, the in­ci­dent oc­curred short­ly af­ter 12 am at Low­lands, near the Gulf City Mall. Guardian Me­dia was told that Ba­boo­nanan was dri­ving along the Claude Noel High­way when he had a do­mes­tic dis­pute with the woman. Ba­boo­nanan was re­port­ed­ly stabbed sev­er­al times about his neck and body by the woman dur­ing the al­ter­ca­tion. He was rushed to the Scar­bor­ough Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal via an EHS am­bu­lance for treat­ment but was pro­nounced dead on ar­rival.

An au­top­sy is sched­uled to be per­formed to de­ter­mine the ex­act cause of death.

The woman, who is al­so from South, Trinidad, cel­e­brat­ed her birth­day on Thurs­day. She is said to be as­sist­ing po­lice with their in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
