Tobago landscaper charged with businessman’s death

(Trinidad Express) A Tobago landscaper is expected to appear before a Scarborough Magistrate charged with the March 12 murder of businessman Donald Parks.

Shauneil Charles, 22, of Old Ground Trace, was charged with murder following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard.

Parks, 85, a businessman of Summer Hill, Plymouth Road, Scarborough, had just returned to his home, around 5:38pm, when he was approached by a lone gunman.

The assailant pointed the firearm at the victim and shot at him twice. Mr. Parks sustained a gunshot wound to the head and died at the scene, while the assailant escaped on foot with a bag which was in the victim’s possession.

Charles was arrested by officers of the Scarbor-ough Police Station, on Wednesday when he visited the station in relation to another matter.
