(Trinidad Express) Two brothers yesterday appear-ed before a Sangre Grande magistrate charged with the shooting death of 17-year-old Isaiah Deshawn Hitlal earlier this year.

The duo of Victor Timothy, 33, and Leon Timothy, 24, both labourers of Damarie Hill, Sangre Grande, were also charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Joan Honore-Paul on Monday.

In addition to those charges, Leon Timothy was also charged with shooting with intent.

Both men were arrested at their home on April 1, by officers of the Region II Homicide Bureau of Investigations.

Hitlal, of Sangre Grande, was in the company of two other men on February 2, at Jacob Coat Road, around 7.50 p.m., when a white Toyota wagon stopped alongside them and two men armed with guns exited.

The gunmen fired several shots in the direction of the victims resulting in Hitlal being shot a number of times.

He was taken to the Sangre Grande District Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead shortly after.
