Deaf students will compete in track and field event

Tomorrow,  3rd April 40 deaf students will compete in the track & field event at the Guyana Defence Force Ground Eve Leary as part of Deaf Inter-school Sport 2019. The event will kick off at 10 am with the students singing the first verse of the National Anthem and the march past of the five participating schools. 

Apart from medals, trophies will be awarded to champion girl /champion boy – under 12, under 14, under 16, 16 and over – best school and best march past/cheerleading team. Director of Sport, Christopher Jones, will be one of the judges of the march past and he will also share inspiring remarks with the students. 

The event is annually facilitated by the Deaf Association of Guyana Inc. (DAG) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. DAG proudly acknowledges the support coming from the National Sports Commission, the Guyana Defence Force and Bourda Trophy Stall.
