The Port Mourant Training Centre (PMTC) Volleyball Club on Saturday last held its annual awards ceremony where the club recognised some of its 2018 standout performers.

The ceremony saw Shemroy Ross copping the Male Volleyball Player of the year award  after he led PMTC to a number of titles during the year as the club continued its dominance in the ancient county. 

Candacy Mentore, on the other hand, received the Female Volleyball Player of the year award for her fine showing in 2018. 

Attending the ceremony were special invitees Gregory Rambarran, patron of the Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA); Errol Fingall, President of the (BVA) and club members of the #47 Challengers Volleyball Club.  The proceedings were chaired by Levi Nedd, the outgoing BVA President, who in his report, urged the members to support him as President of the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) after he would have highlighted the successes of the PMTC Volleyball team for which he plans to transfer to the national level.  

He also pointed out the setbacks the club encountered in 2018 for which he hoped to remedy in 2019 as the club seeks to achieve higher goals. 

Remarks were delivered by Rambarran, Fingall and the male MVP Ross.
