Four teams including Guyana will contest the U21 championships with the hosts, Suriname and powerhouse Brazil the other competing countries.

Coaching the units will be Errol Fingal, who is expected to guide the female unit while Rodney Fredericks will oversee the preparations and bear responsibility for the males. The experienced Nedd, a former national captain, will assist the coaching unit.

Saturday, the GVF wrapped up a three-day preparatory camp.

A group of over 40 young spikers were encamped at the National Gymnasium.

Nedd informed that the three-day camp was geared towards identifying the prospective players for further scrutiny ahead of the tour.

“This the final shortlisting for a national male and female under – 21 team to tour Cayenne next month, February,” Nedd explained.

Final shortlisting will be done in the coming weeks.
