The Guyana Hockey Board’s (GHB) National Under – 19 Development Team, Supernova, began the University of West Indies (UWI) Indoor championship on a winning note by defeating Norte Dame on Thursday evening, in the Twin Island Republic. 

 The Guyanese captured the match which was played at the UWI Sports and Physical Education Centre (SPEC) indoor facility 4-0, courtesy of strikes from four different goal scores.

 Sixteen-year-old Warren Williams was first to check the scorecard for the Guyanese in the third minute.

 Nine minutes later, the easygoing Samuel Woodroffe navigated a penalty corner pass the upright to hand the Guyanese a 2-0 lead which took them into the half. 

 The youngsters then completed the opening 4-0 win following goals from Kareem McKenzie – in the 20th – and Omar Hopkinson whose came in the 24th minute of the contest.
