Cricket in the City continues today

 A number of exciting matches are anticipated during the course of the weekend in action of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) and the New Building Society (NBS) 40-over second division tournament. 

 Today’s lone fixture will see Ace Warriors CC coming up against a Police Sports Club (PSC) side which endured mixed returns during last weekend encounters. That match will be played at the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) ground and will bowl off from 10:30hrs. 

Sunday however makes for a few exciting encounters as defending champions the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) are fixed to do battle against this seasons red hot MYO who are unbeaten. That match will be played at DCC. 

Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) on the other hand will take on the University of Guyana at MYO in what is expected to be another exciting encounter. 

Meanwhile the remaining fixtures will see the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) coming up against Transport at GCC while PSC is expected to arrest Sophia at Eve Leary. 

The final encounter on Sunday will feature a battle between Everest CC and Diplomats SC at Camp Road.

 The Roger Harper led board has also secured sponsorship for an under – 19 100 ball tournament under the sponsorship banner of Noble House Seafoods Next Generation under – 19 competition.

 That competition bowls off today with Queens College taking on GNIC at GNIC, Gandhi Youth Organisation against Transport at Bourda while DCC will take on ECO Champs at DCC in Zone A encounters.

Zone B will see MSC playing against MYO at MSC, Everest verses GCC at Camp Road while Bel Air Rubis drew the bye.
