KMTC Phagwah race meet now March17

The Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) has brought forward their Phagwah Race meet from March 24 to March 17.

The move was made to avoid clashing with the second leg of the Jumbo Jet Thoroughbred Racing Committee (JJTRC) Triple Crown series which will be held at the Rising Sun Turf Club.

Six races are carded for the event which is scheduled to run off at the Bush Lot, Corentyne track for 12:30hrs.

According to the provisional programme, the G1 and Lower, seven furlong event will be the feature event on race day. The sum of $320,000 will go to the winning stable. Other events on the card include: L Non Earners (five furlongs), 3 Year-Old Guyana Bred (seven furlongs), J&K (seven furlongs), L Non Winner (five furlongs) and the L Open (five furlongs).

Horses can be entered with Ivan Dipnarine (331-0316), Cecil Kennard (623-7609), Fazal Habibulla (657-7010), Dennis Deroop (640-6396) or Compton Sancho (691-1174).

Entries close on March, 11 and no late entries will be accepted.

Conditions 

These races are being run under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority

In the event that there are less than five horses entered for any event, the club reserves the right to cancel or reframe the said event or reduce the prize money after consulting with the horses owners

Owners of horses must pay at least $5000 for each horse at the point of entry. If not paid, the horses names would not appear on the official programme and the horse will not be permitted to run

Five horses to start before a third prize will be paid 

Seven horses to start before a fourth prize will be paid 

If only four horses start, the prize money will be reduced by 25%

If only three horses start, the prize money will be reduced by 40%
