The nation’s cyclists are in for a busy weekend as two events are scheduled to pedal off tomorrow and Sunday.

Tomorrow, the National Park circuit will be transformed into a speedway with the staging of the 28th annual R&R International 11-race cycling programme.

The Hassan Mohamed organized fixture starts at 09:00hrs and is expected to attract the cream of the nation’s wheelsmen in the BMX, Juveniles, Mountain Bikes, Veterans and Senior categories.

Last year’s feature 35-lap event was won by Team Coco’s Hamzah Eastman.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the riders will take their talents to West Demerara to compete in the 40-mile version of the race which will be sponsored by the same longstanding company.

The race commences at Schoonord in the vicinity of the Demerara Harbour Bridge, proceeds to Parika and returns to the point of origin for the conclusion.

Starting time is 08:00hrs.

Some big names like Paul DeNobrega, Geron Williams, Stephano Husbands, Marlon Williams, Niles, Michael Anthony and Alonzo Ambrose are expected to be in the peloton.
