Following two unpredictable and exciting nights of action, the 2nd Annual Magnum Mash Cup Futsal Championship continues tonight at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue with pivotal group matches.
In the opening match, Ansa McAl All-Stars will oppose Agricola from 19:00hrs, with Sophia battling Rhythm Ballers at 19:30hrs and Stabroek Ballers engaging Capital Strikers from 20:00hrs.
The fourth fixture will then pit Melanie against Kingston at 20:30hrs, while Showstoppers tackle Island All-Stars from 21:00hrs and North Ruimveldt face-off with Mocha at 21:30hrs.
At 22:00hrs, Hustlers oppose Alexander Village, with Silver Bullets matching skills with Tigerbay from 22:30hrs and Back Circle locking horns with North East La Penitence at 23:00hrs.
The final fixture of the night will witness Gold Is Money taking aim at California Square.
Sans-Sport, coordinators of the tournament during an official release, thanked the teams and fans for their support in making the tournament a success thus far.
The correspondence further implored on the teams to be properly attired with the required socks and shin pads or face possible disqualification.
The nine day event features 32 teams battling for over $900,000 in cash and prizes.
The other playing dates are the 13th, 16th, 19th, 21st, and 24th, with the grand finale slated for March 3rd.
Initially to be contested in a group format, upon the conclusion of the group stage, the top two teams from each of the eight groups (four teams per group), will advance to the knockout round
Winner of the event will pocket $500,000 and the championship trophy, while the runner-up receives $200,000 and the corresponding accolade.
On the other hand, the third and fourth placed finishers will walk-away with $100,000 and $50,000 apiece, and the respective trophy.
