Big wins for Bishops’ High, Annandale

Annandale, the Bishops’ High School and St. Stanislaus College scored contrasting wins when the 7th edition of the Milo Secondary School Football Championships commenced yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Annandale dismissed St. Joseph’s High 7-1. Jerome Harrigon recorded a hat-trick in the 30th, 60th and 64th minute while Jemar Harrigon, Omari Glasgow, Colin Henriques and Anika Headley scored in the 20th, 39th, 55th and 65th minute respectively.

For the loser, Warren Williams scored in the 19th minute. In the second match, which was officiated by Lawrence ‘Sparrow’ Griffith, Bishops’ High downed North Ruimveldt 5-0. Malachi Richards tallied a double in the 42nd and 47thminute.

Chipping in with goals in the 18th, 26th and 40th minute were Antwoine Herod, Acquino Luke and Linford Isles respectively. Meanwhile, St. Stanislaus College edged Queen’s College 2-1. Jodel Fernandes and Kareem Richmond scored in the 28th and 66th minute.

For the loser, Diarra Thomas found the back of the net in the 35th minute. The tournament continues tomorrow at the same venue with another round of group fixtures.

In the opening matchup, Annandale Secondary takes aim at St. Joseph’s High from 12:00hrs while South Ruimveldt will lock horns with Canje Secondary at 13:45hrs.

The final match will pit Lodge Secondary against St. Mary’s Secondary from 15:30hrs.
