DeNobrega sprints away with the spoils

One day after placing sixth on the inner circuit of the National Park, Paul DeNobrega took his talents to West Demerara yesterday and sprinted away with the spoils of the R&R International 40-mile road race.

The Team Evolution’s standout stopped the clock in a swift one hour, 37 minutes and 48 seconds for the 27th edition of the event which started at Schoonord, proceeded to Parika and returned to the point of origin for the finish.

DeNobrega who is one of the most consistent riders on the local circuit, led Geron Williams and Brighton John onto the podium while Andre Green, Deeraj Garbarran and Kemuel Moses filled out the top six rewarding positions.

Other categorical winner’s yesterday included Sherwin Sampson (junior), Alex Mendes (veteran under 50) and Hector Edwards 111 (Mountain Bike).
