Tournament favourite Gold is Money stays unbeaten

Gold Is Money, Back Circle, Sophia, North Ruimveldt and Showstoppers maintained their perfect records, when the 2nd edition of the Magnum Mash Cup Futsal Championship, resumed on Saturday at the National Gymnasium.

 Tournament favourite Gold is Money dismantled California Square 7-0. Michael Pedro recorded a hat-trick in the 13th, 14th and 16th minute, with Randolph Wagner adding a double in the fourth and 15th minute.

 Adding goals in the second and 19th minute were Colin Nelson and Phillip Rowley respectively. Meanwhile, Back Circle edged North East La Penitence 3-1.

 Stephon McLean bagged a double n the ninth and 17th minute, while Cecil Jackman opening the scoring in the second minute.

 For the loser, Alwyn Moore found the back of the net in the 12th minute. Likewise, North Ruimveldt edged Mocha 1-0. Jaleel Hamilton scored in the fourth minute.

 On the other hand, Sophia dismantled Rhythm Ballers 5-1. Shem Arthur copped a double in first and 14th minute, while Dwayne McLennon, Ryan Jeffrey and Stephon Maycock scored in the second, ninth and 16th minute apiece.

 For Rhythm Ballers, Orville Stewart netted in the fourth minute. Also, Showstoppers needled Island All-Stars 3-2.

 Dexroy Adams tallied a brace in the 17th and 18th minute, while Marvin Josiah netted in the ninth minute.

 For the loser, Devon Hyman bagged a double in the 14th and 15th minute. In other notable results, Ansa McAl mauled Agricola 7-1.

 Delroy Deen led the rout with a hat-trick in the sixth, 10th and 17th minute. He was assisted by doubles from Reon Hopkinson in the 12th and 15th minute and Akin Curry in the 18th and 19th minute.

 For Agricola, Akeem Pompey netted in the seventh minute. Similarly, Tigerbay dismantled Silver Bullets 3-0. Deon Alfred amassed a brace in the eighth and 15th minute, while Akeem Saul scored in the 19th minute. The complete list of results can be found below.

 Initially to be contested in a group format, upon the conclusion of the group stage, the top two teams from each of the eight groups (four teams per group), will advance to the knockout round. The tournament continues on Wednesday at the same venue with another round of matches.
