Drawn encounters highlight Milo football

On a day highlighted by two drawn encounters, Lodge Secondary downed President’s College 2-0 in the Milo Secondary School Football Championship yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Dorwin George ensured the Jamoon Drive outfit departed the venue with the vital three points, recording a double in the 44th and 49th minute. 

Meanwhile, Annandale and South Ruimveldt battled to a 2-2 stalemate. Jerome Harrigon and Tiquan Taylor scored in the 31st and 52nd minute respectively for Annandale.

For South Ruimveldt, Jamal Crum-Ewing and Joshua Milo were on target in the 12th and 59th minute apiece. Also, Canje Knights and St. Joseph played a scoreless draw.

The tournament continues tomorrow at the same venue with another round of group fixtures.

In the opening matchup, the Bishops’ High takes aim at Queens College from 12:00hrs, while St. Stanislaus lock horns with North Ruimveldt at 13:45hrs.

The final match will pit Marian Academy against St. Mary’s Secondary from 15:30hrs.
