Easy wins for St Mary’s, Bishops’ High

St. Mary’s and the Bishops’ High Schools secured easy wins when the Milo Secondary Schools football championship continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

 St. Mary’s mauled Marian Academy 5-1. Joshua Samuels fashioned a double in the 24th and 43rd minute. He was assisted by goals from Michael Oie, Jeremiah Softly and Daniel Webster in the 15th, 19th and 52nd minute respectively.

 For Marian Academy, Ricardo Percival found the back of the net in the 45th minute. The Bishops’ High dismissed Queen’s College by a 2-0 scoreline.

 Makayah Smith bagged a double in the 43rd and 50th minute. Meanwhile St. Stanislaus gained a walkover against North Ruimveldt.

 The tourney which is set to conclude on April 14th, features 24 teams divided into six groups of four.

 Upon the conclusion of the group stage, the top two finishers in each pool, alongside the best four third place teams, advance to the elimination round.

 Winner of the competition receives $500,000 towards a school project and the championship trophy. 

 Similarly, the second, third and fourth-placed sides pocket $300,000, $200,000 and $100,000 respectively towards a school initiative and a trophy.
